GUS Canada partners with GUS Medical and Veterinary

GUS Canada has recently partnered with GUS Medical and Veterinary schools within the GUS network of higher education institutions, including Saba University School of Medicine, Medical University of the Americas and St. Matthew’s University.

Located in the Caribbean, each institution offers innovative learning opportunities and individualized support from expert faculty with rigorous education for students who want to pursue careers in medicine.

Saba University School of Medicine’s intensive US-modeled curriculum and intentionally small environment foster individualized support through close relationships with students’ peers, mentors, faculty, and administration. An integrated research component provides students with a competitive edge when preparing for critical USMLE exams and applying for residencies. Saba’s high-achieving students find success as MDs ultimately practicing across the U.S. or Canada.

Medical University of the Americas’ MD program is based on the integrated, systems-based approach in use at top U.S. medical schools. Students who are successful at MUA take advantage of the diverse learning opportunities including interactive lectures, small-group work sessions, individual and group presentations, team-based learning, and simulations with standardized patients. In addition, MUA faculty are committed to providing intensive individualized support and a sense of community that fuels student success on campus, throughout clinicals and beyond.

St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine’s strong basic sciences curriculum is integrated with Cayman Island’s world-class healthcare system. The courses offer students access to hospital and community clinic experience and hospital-based research. The state-of-the art IT infrastructure and learning platforms at St. Matthew’s University are among the most advanced in medical education today and provide an excellent foundation for the clinical curriculum and preparation for residency.

St. Matthew’s University School of Veterinary Medicine’s program is taught by expert faculty, all of whom hold extensive qualifications in both veterinary medicine and teaching. The program offers students the opportunity to develop extensive knowledge to prepare them for a successful career in veterinary medicine through on- campus teaching and clinical training. Students can earn their DVM in just under 4 years.

St. Matthew’s University offers pathways for students who are pursing an MD or DVM program.
